About Rev. Alexander Gee, Jr., Pastor
Along with his desire to strengthen the community and improve the lives of its members, Reverend Gee has a passion and gift for reconciliation which characterizes every aspect of his ministry. His exuberant, contagious love for God, the body of Christ and his "neighbors" inspires others to follow his lead in building relationships across the lines that traditionally divide races, denominations, and economic and social classes. Under his leadership, both Fountain of Life and The Nehemiah Corporation continue to grow and expand the scope of their impact on the community. In addition to leading these ministries, Reverend Gee serves on the boards of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Future Wisconsin Housing. In recognition of his efforts, Alexander has received numerous honors. The United States Jaycees selected him as one of the 1987 Outstanding Young Men of America. He was the subject of a Wisconsin State Journal "Know Your Madisonian" profile in 1989. In 1994, the City of Madison presented him with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award. Later that same year, the African American Children’s Festival chose him to receive the Walk of Honor Award. In 1995, the Madison Community Foundation honored him for his "Outstanding Contributions to the Community," and he was saluted by the Wisconsin State Journal as one of "Ten Who Made a Difference." In 1996, Alex received an honorary doctorate degree from Grace Theological Seminary. Reverend Gee is married to the former Jacqueline Malone, whom he met while they were both students at the University of Wisconsin. Jackie works full-time with The Nehemiah Corporation, serving as its Chief Financial Officer and Human Resources Director. Ask Alex about their miracle baby, Lexi. |
